The Day the Votes Were Counted

Jesus Christ has been the most trusted name for two thousand years. People have continually called on Him in times of trouble, and He has delivered.

Name recognition.

Today there are high school students who couldn't locate Mexico on a map even if told it was south of Hollywood. Names of political candidates? You might as well forget it.

Though most do not know Him, the name of Jesus Christ is recognized and trusted throughout the world.

Experience:

Jesus knows what it is to be poor, to be reviled, to be tempted.

though being a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered. (Hebrews 5:8)

Integrity:

Christ has demonstrated ability to do the right thing no matter what the cost.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:8)

Compassion:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. (Matthew 9:36)

Leadership:

True leadership is setting an example.

Christ set a new standard for leadership -- service.

He rose up from the supper and laid aside His garments. And taking a towel, He girded Himself. Then He put water into the basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe off with the towel with which He was girded. (John 13:4-5)

Justice and Mercy

Justice and righteousness are Your throne's foundation; mercy and truth go before Your face. (Psalms 89:14)

Vision:

I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

America is a nation of sheep being plundered by predators. She needs a Good Shepherd.

I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep. But the hireling, not even being a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and forsakes the sheep and flees. And the wolf seizes them, and scatters the sheep. But the hireling flees because he is a hireling, and there is not a care to him concerning the sheep. (John 10:11-13)

Had enough of hirelings?

For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
